– Developing a WordPress site for an international client from Auckland.
LINK Business is a business brokerage that matches businesses for sale with motivated buyers. Established in 1996 they have thousands of successful matches and are the leading business brokerage in Southern California.
Project Brief
The brief for LINK was a complete one. To design an attractive, professional website that would attract visitors and convert them into loyal customers, and carry that design over to a responsive (desktop, mobile, tablet) and easy to navigate website that would showcase their available businesses for sale and provide the user with a simple yet efficient search functionality. Essentially, help LINK Business to take the lead in the commercial real estate industry.

KEY FEATURES AND CHALLENGES
Custom Design
With LINK having a vision of the site they wanted to have, our job was to conceptualise, plan and build a collection of consistent layouts for the required pages, while selecting a pleasing colour palette, text styles and images that would illustrate LINK’s vision to their clients. We use a variety of tools in order to work together with the client, such as InVision, where the client can easily provide feedback on the design and make the process communicative and efficient.
Custom Content Types & Custom Fields
The LINK Business admin area needed to be customised so that we could expand beyond the standard Posts & Pages. We created Business, Brokers and Offices as custom types of content. This makes it incredibly easy for the editors to add / manage businesses for sale, knowing each content type has its place in the admin area. On top of that – we also templated these content types with custom fields to take the guess work out of formatting and provide a consistent look across published content – no matter who was publishing.
Custom search and filter capabilities
A commercial real estate website relies heavily in their clients searching and finding what they need, without a fuss. Therefore creating a custom search and filter tool was a top priority for this brief.
With the use of personalised plugins, we created an advanced search box, adding taxonomy and post type filters to really refine the searches, and provide the end user with a robust searching tool.
